This is the city of Granada’s second year of involvement with the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES. This sports event is part of its offering of activities to commemorate the thousand-year anniversary of the Kingdom of Granada (1013 – 2013).

The millennium is an unrepeatable opportunity to celebrate a wealth of happenings and events that will publicise Granada and Andalusia worldwide.

Granada will commemorate these thousand years of history, culture, landscapes and sensations with a varied, high-quality programme open to all that will highlight cultural and economic development by using the past to revitalise the present through encounters and activities relating to culture, education, sports, urban arts, research and innovation, recovery of our heritage and cultural tourism.

The millennium serves as an opportunity to reflect on our history and our vision of the future in order to establish a dialogue with the past and apply it to future projects through the organisation and coordination of cultural, leisure and sports events. At the same time, it will highlight the creation, production and performance of theatre, audiovisual, musical and sports events related to this celebration and the city of Granada.

‘Follow your dreams’

The presence of GAES Hearing Centres in the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES, one of best known MTB enduro stage races in the world, forms part of their ‘Follow your dreams’ sports sponsorship programme. The aim of this project is to give an opportunity to amateur sportspeople to achieve their goals and fulfil their dreams. These people have a close relationship to the company in that they share values such as self-sacrifice, effort and team work.

To follow a dream is to set a goal and work 100% to attain it. 
Everything that we have achieved as human beings has been thanks to dreamers. The ancestral dream of flying resulted in balloons and airplanes, but at the beginning everyone laughed at this dream. Without dreams the world would stop and everything in life would become unimportant. Dreams have produced airplanes, electricity, satellites, medicine, technology, companies and great adventures.

Gaes is sponsoring the MILENIO TITAN DESERT by GAES 2012 because it shares many of the values of this race, such as effort, self-sacrifice and team work. That’s why it has decided to embark on this adventure. But GAES has not stopped at sponsorship of the MILENIO TITAN DESERT; it will have various teams participating in it. The first, the Elite team, made up of Roberto Heras, Raúl Hernández and Luis Leao Pinto, is a team with a good chance of winning. The second team is a Duo Mixto made up of Nuria Lauco and Tony Pérez. GAES will also be participating with a group composed of famous riders like Marc Coma, Josef Ajram, Santi Millán, Ariadna Tubel and Dori Ruano. Last but not least, there will be a team of Ear, Nose and Throat doctors and GAES employees.
