Maadid, Morocco - The 330 riders enrolled in the fifth edition of the Nissan Titan Desert have completed the technical verifications before the race that starts tomorrow. From early today participants have reached the Hotel Xaluca in Maadid from where the first of the five stages of this legendary race will start tomorrow.
During five days they will face the harsh desert of Morocco across the 470 km route between this town at the north of Erfoud to Ouarzazate crossing the Atlas Mountains on a special route and completly new in this race.
Despite being a quiet day for most of them, many of the riders have decided to wear their best clothes and go for a ride around, especially to get used to the tremendous heat of this area at the NW of the Sahara desert and in order to train the best way to cross the two kilometers of sand dunes that await them tomorrow at the start.
With big names in cycling among their ranks and all registration record, the fifth edition of the race was presented as the best one of all the previous years
