On Thursday 20 November, Nissan Titan Desert MTB Marathon had the opportunity to attend the award ceremony for the Deporte con Corazón 2008 prizes. This initiative, organised by POLAR with the collaboration of SPORT LIFE, aims to recognise solidarity through sport by a number of projects in Spain.
The winning project was 'Running Across Spain' in support of the SOS Children's Villages and organised by the ultra-distance runner Ricardo Abad Martínez, who was present to accept the €3,000 prize money.
The gala evening was attended by leading sports personalities, such as Joan Llaneras, Roger Grimau, “Paquillo” Fernández, Agustí Roc and members of the Spanish synchronised swimming team, alongside official guests and media.
Many other famous faces from the world of sport were also spotted at the award ceremony. A number of NISSAN TITAN DESERT MTB MARATHON competitors, including Melcior Mauri, Sergi Lopez Egea, Andrés Jimenez and Manel Lafora were among the VIP guests at the charity gala event.
